Performing Arts Announcers
Announcers act as ambassadors for the Fine Arts Fiesta. They introduce artists and entertainers, as well as highlight special artist exhibition, children’s activities, vendor specials. Announcers typically announce one to two acts during a two to three hour shift. Announcing is a great way to get in front of the community, meet interesting performers and enjoy in the festival. Volunteer to be an announcer this year.
Gazebo Information Center
The Gazebo Information Center is responsible for distributing the Times-Leader Program Booklet; helping the Fiesta visitors with directional questions using the map with the lay-out of vendors and artists; housing the exhibition sitters’ list and time schedule; the announcers’ list and schedule and the Artists’ Ambassadors’ list and schedule. Volunteer to assist at the Gazebo Information Center.
The Adult Juried Exhibition
The Fine Arts Fiesta sponsors an Adult Juried Exhibitions that is open to the public for show casing their art work.
The Adult Exhibition is open to any adult living within a 100 mile radius of W-B and consists of six categories which are crafts, graphics, painting, photography, sculpture, and watercolor. There are awards in each category and many sponsored awards. A professional artist(s) serves as the sole judge(s) of the exhibition selection and prizes. The judge is different every year. A small entry fee is charged to cover handling and insurance. A judge is chosen to review the art and those chosen pieces makes up the juried exhibition.
The Student Juried Exhibition
The Fine Arts Fiesta sponsors a Student Exhibition that is open to the public for show casing their art work. The Student Juried Exhibition is open to any student within the 100 miles radius starting middle school, junior high school, or senior high school ages. There are six categories which are crafts, graphics, painting, photography, sculpture, and watercolor. There are awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall and many sponsored awards. A small entry fee is charged to cover handling and insurance. A judge is chosen to review the art and those chosen pieces make up the juried exhibition and prize selection.
The Visual Arts Committee
Assist with the art work drop off for both exhibitions before judging and the return of the art work at the close of Fiesta. Also the hanging, installation, transportation, cataloguing, mantainence and display of both juried exhibitions are tasks of this committee. Volunteer to help this committee.
Sitters
The sitters are volunteers manage the student and adult juried art tents. Sitters typically keep a watchful eye on the art, answer questions and complete the art sales. Shifts typically last two or more hours (deppends upon the volunteer). Volunteer to be a sitter this year.
