Interested? Don’t delay. The application deadline is January 29, 2012. The Artists’ Market is scheduled for May 17-20, 2012, Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The market is open from 11 am-8 pm, May 17-19 and from 11 am-5 pm, May 20. Fiesta operates rain or shine, so if you plan to exhibit, please be prepared. Eligibility
The FAF is open to all artists and craftspeople 18 years of age and older who create original work. No commercial molds, kit objects, decoupage, pre-manufactured components, etc. will be considered. Jurors and the FAF reserve the right to determine the eligibility of all objects submitted for jurying. The FAF attempts to show a reasonable number of each of the fine arts and crafts.
Awards
Cash awards are presented for Best of Show in Fine Arts, Crafts, along with Honorable Mentions in each category at the judge’s discretion at The Artists’ Breakfast. All exhibitors receive an invitation.
Fees
Upon acceptance, a $180 exhibition fee to FAF is required by March 9, 2012. Late payments are not accepted. Exhibit fees are non-refundable after April 13, 2012.
Exhibition Space and Provisions
Exhibitors must supply their own 10‘x10’ tents and lights. FAF provides 110V electricity, water and comfort facilities. Parking is available nearby for a fee. Exhibitors must keep their area clean. Laptops can not be plugged into the power source.
Lodging
Exhibitors who live outside a 60-mile radius of FAF, are provided a subsidized single-occupancy hotel room on a first-come, first-serve basis for Thurs., Fri. and Sat. night for $80 (payable by March 9, 2012).
Demonstrations
We encourage exhibitors to demonstrate.
Judges
David James Francis Klevinsky teaches art at Misericordia University, Dallas, PA, and holds a MFA in ceramics from Marywood University. Kim Malm is a painter who teaches at Lafayette College, Easton, PA, and holds a MFA with a concentration in painting from the University of Pennsylvania.
Security
FAF provides security from close until opening each day. Exhibitors acknowledge they are responsible for the care of their own work and display and that neither Luzerne County, the City of Wilkes-Barre, or FAF are responsible for the loss or damage of any works or display in the show or in overnight storage.
Standards
A Standards Committee reserves the right to request removal of any work not accurately represented by the slides to jury the craftsperson.
Publicity
Upon acceptance, please submit a jpeg photo of your work and a short bio describing you and your work with your exhibition fee, due Friday, March 9, 2012.
