Do you have what what it takes to design this year’s WINNING theme artwork? Do you love to draw? Is your imagination overflowing with great ideas? If you answered yes and you are a student, then start working!You just might design a winning entry.

The theme is “Our Town…Art Town.” The Board of Directors of the Fine Arts Fiesta cordially welcomes student participation in it’s 2012 Poster and Program Cover Contest. We are asking you to assist us in selecting the original piece of artwork which will serve as the cover for our 2012 Program Book on our promotional poster. The winning entry may also appear on the 2012 tee shirt.

The Board of Directors of the Fine Arts Fiesta gratefully acknowledges the assistance of the member libraries of The Luzerne County Library System in this contest. Through the generosity of Marquis Art and Frame, this years winners will receive the following prizes: * o First place: $100 o Second place: $50 o Third place: $25 o Ten Honorable Mentions Eligibility All students (grades 3-12) currently enrolled in any elementary, junior or senior high school in Luzerne County are eligible. Rules Entry must be the original work of the student. Entry must be submitted on firm white paper or poster board. Media/Materials – optional. Regulation Size – 12” x 18”. Color presentations are preferred but not required; 3 color maximum. NO Plagiarism. NO Photographic materials may be used. NO framed or matted entries will be accepted. NO pencil. NO Colored pencil. NO Crayon. NO Letters. NO Numbers. Marker, paint, ink are acceptable. The student is encouraged to use his/her creativity in designing the poster; however, words should not be included in the work. How to submit your work 1) Each student may enter no more than one (1) piece of work. 2) On or before February 7, 2011, the student should submit his/her work to the Osterhout Library located on S. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre. 3) Each entry should have the name of the student, grade, age, home phone number, home address, school and art or classroom teacher listed on the back. 4) All entries will become the property of the Fine Arts Fiesta and will not be returned.
